Redefining Altitude: Pole Creek Residence in Winter Park, Colorado

Building or remodeling along Colorado's Front Range or in the Rocky Mountains requires materials engineered for high altitudes and extreme weather. Windows and doors define modern mountain architecture while serving as the primary thermal envelope between your living space and harsh Alpine elements. Architects, custom home builders, and homeowners choose the Weather Shield Contemporary Collection to combine modern design with thermal performance. As a premier Colorado distributor of Weather Shield products, Mountain States Building Products supplies these high-performance window and door systems across the Front Range and Rocky Mountain regions. Features of the Weather Shield Contemporary Collection Weather Shield designs windows and patio doors that blend high-end design with structural integrity. The Contemporary Collection offers specific engineering features optimized for modern mountain homes. Minimalist Profiles and Maximized Glass The Contemporary Collection features narrow sightlines and maximum glass area. These slim aluminum-clad profiles maximize natural light and maintain unobstructed views of the Front Range and surrounding mountain landscapes. Multi-Panel Door Systems and Floor-to-Ceiling Glass Large-format direct-set windows and multi-panel sliding or stacking door systems support seamless indoor-outdoor living. These systems allow builders to create expansive glass walls that open interior spaces to exterior decks and outdoor living areas. Durable Aluminum-Clad Exteriors and Wood Interiors Featuring warm wood interiors paired with low maintenance extruded aluminum exterior cladding, these units resist intense high-altitude UV radiation, heavy snow loads, and moisture. Custom exterior anodized and powder-coated finishes allow precise architectural matching for modern or mountain-modern builds. High-Altitude Energy Efficiency and Thermal Performance Colorado high-country homes experience extreme temperature swings, intense daytime solar gain, and high wind loads. Weather Shield windows feature low-E glass coatings, warm-edge spacer systems, and multi-layer weatherstripping to meet strict local energy codes, reduce HVAC loads, and increase year-round comfort. Custom Sizing and Hardware Options Every custom home build requires unique specifications. The collection includes custom frame dimensions, specialized grille patterns, and contemporary hardware finishes to meet exact architectural plans. High-Altitude Building Performance Standards Installing windows and doors in high-altitude environments requires attention to climate-specific variables. To withstand high UV exposure and resist fading, frames utilize heavy-duty extruded aluminum cladding. To handle severe temperature extremes, advanced thermal separation is achieved through multi-chambered frames and integrated thermal breaks. Additionally, high-altitude pressure equalization is managed using specialized capillary tubes within the insulated glass, while heavy-duty frame construction provides high DP-rated structural load resistance against severe snow and wind forces. Local Supply and Support Across Colorado Sourcing structural building materials for mountain job sites involves specific logistical considerations. Lead times, regional building code compliance, and high-altitude glass specifications require specialized local knowledge. Mountain States Building Products acts as a regional supplier for builders, general contractors, and homeowners in: The Front Range: Denver , Boulder, and surrounding foothill communities.
